17-Year-Old Brooksville Woman Critically Injured in Crash

A Brooksville teenager was critically injured just before midnight Friday when she pulled away from a stop sign and was hit by a Jeep at a Cortez Boulevard intersection, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
Courtney Michelle Dabney, 17, was headed south on Larose Road at 11:52 p.m., when she pulled out in front of a Jeep Wrangler headed west on Cortez, the FHP said.
The Jeep was driven by Kayla Marie Green, 22, of Dade City, troopers said.
Green and a passenger were hospitalized with minor injuries, authorities said.
Dabney was flown to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tampa by helicopter, the Highway Patrol said.
She had been wearing her seat belt, the FHP said.
